Artist Statement
Danielle Fernandez is an artist whose work seamlessly blends the sophistication of digital artistry with the timeless beauty of traditional and natural themes. Born in 1986 in Davenport, Iowa, and raised in West Des Moines, Danielle’s path to artistry was shaped by a rich tapestry of experiences, from her academic achievements to her extensive international travels. With a Minor in Fine Arts and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, class of 2008, her art reflects a unique amalgamation of analytical acumen and creative vibrancy.
Danielle’s artistic vision is profoundly influenced by the grandeur of European architecture and royalty, seen in the palaces of France, including Versailles and Paris, as well as the storied cityscapes of Venice. These locales, known for their rich history and breathtaking architecture, have imbued her work with a sense of depth and majesty. Alongside these inspirations, she finds endless wonder in celestial elements—moons, stars, galaxies—and the mathematical perfection of the Fibonacci sequence in nature, weaving these concepts into her pieces to evoke a sense of harmony and timelessness.
Now residing in Milton, Georgia, with her husband, two children, and two dogs, Danielle’s art has evolved to encapsulate not just the elegance of distant lands but also the allure of her immediate surroundings. The rustic charm of Milton, with its majestic horses and the warmth of Southern hospitality, blends seamlessly with the refined nuances inspired by her travels and the celestial and natural patterns that capture her imagination. Her experiences designing her custom home and collaborating with Restoration Hardware’s interior designers have further honed her aesthetic, infusing her work with a sophisticated and deeply personal style. Whether designing commissioned pieces or creating original works, Danielle draws on her appreciation for interior design, ensuring her art complements and elevates the spaces it inhabits.
Reflecting on her creative ethos, Danielle shares, “Art, to me, is more than an expression; it’s a dialogue with the observer—a melding of history, personal journeys, and the unspoken stories of architecture, celestial patterns, and landscapes.” This sentiment lies at the heart of her work, aiming to transcend the visual to evoke emotions and provoke thought. Through her art, Danielle seeks to bridge the grandiosity of European palaces, the infinite wonder of celestial themes, and the serene beauty of her Georgian life. Each piece invites viewers to explore a world where history, nature, and design coalesce into something truly extraordinary.
