Artist Statement

Danielle Fernandez is a fine artist based in Milton, Georgia, creating large-scale, hand-painted work for collectors and interior designers across the Southeast. She paints in a deliberately muted, luminous palette, distilling each subject into atmosphere rather than detail — something calm, timeless, and a little reverent.

Her subjects return again and again to a few enduring fascinations: the drama of the sky, and the grandeur of history. She paints cloudscapes drawn from the enormous, soft Georgia skies above her — clouds, and the mystery of the moon, that stay beautiful and unknowable no matter how long she looks. Alongside them runs a deep pull toward the world of kings and queens: the statuary and palaces of France and Monaco, classical sculpture like the Winged Victory, and stately architecture closer to home, including Atlanta's own Swan House. Between the two lives the quiet of Milton itself — a landscape of more than two hundred horse farms — and the horses that have become a subject of their own.

Trained in drawing and painting at the University of Iowa, Danielle brings a painter's eye to every piece. Years spent designing her own custom home and collaborating with Restoration Hardware's interior designers have sharpened an aesthetic that is at once refined and deeply personal — she is fascinated by how a painting can hold a room, how restraint and the right light make a space feel both elevated and deeply livable. She works on commission, building each piece around a client's room, palette, and dimensions, and personally delivers and installs work throughout metro Atlanta.

 

"Art, to me, is more than an expression," Danielle says. "It's a dialogue with the observer — a melding of history, personal journeys, and the unspoken stories of architecture, celestial patterns, and landscapes." Each piece is an invitation to slow down and step into a world where history, sky, and design come together into a moment of grace.
